Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C++ / Linux)

We are partnering with an innovative engineering company developing advanced robotic systems used in highly demanding, real-world environments.

They are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with strong C++ and Linux expertise to help build and optimise software running on complex hardware platforms.

This role sits within a multidisciplinary engineering team working on next-generation systems combining robotics, embedded software and advanced algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software components in modern C++
• Work on Linux-based systems with real-time performance constraints
• Participate in the full development lifecycle including design, implementation, testing and code reviews
• Support integration and optimisation of algorithms running on embedded platforms
• Ensure software development aligns with quality and safety standards typical of regulated environments

Key skills

• Strong experience developing Embedded software in C++
• Experience working with Linux-based embedded systems
• Background developing software for complex hardware or embedded platforms
• Experience working in regulated or safety-critical environments (e.g. medical devices, aerospace, automotive, robotics, industrial systems)

Nice to Have

• Experience with robotics or motion control systems
• Exposure to AI or machine learning running on embedded or edge systems
• Experience with real-time systems or performance optimisation
