Senior Autonomy Perception Engineer

Location: Bay Area, CA (Hybrid)

Salary – Up to $250000 (negotiable) + Bonuses

We are partnering with a well-funded autonomous vehicle company that has moved beyond testing and is operating commercially at scale. They are looking for a Senior Autonomy Perception Engineer to take a leading role in building and advancing the systems that allow their vehicles to safely understand the world around them.

This is a hands-on engineering role working on production systems in a safety-critical environment. You will be working at the intersection of classical estimation theory and modern deep learning, and your work will have a direct impact on vehicles operating in the real world every day.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop multi-modal sensor fusion systems integrating data from camera, LiDAR, radar, thermal, and IMU sensors
• Build and improve object tracking pipelines capable of reliably handling complex, dynamic environments
• Develop state estimation algorithms that produce accurate, robust world models from imperfect sensor data
• Apply deep learning techniques to enhance perception performance at scale

Requirements

• Strong experience in state estimation, including Kalman and particle filtering approaches
• Proven experience building multi-object tracking systems in production environments
• Strong background with C++ with a track record of writing reliable, maintainable code for deployed systems
• Familiarity with deep learning for perception tasks
• Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or another safety-critical domain
