We’re supporting a specialist electronics company in Austin developing complex test and measurement systems used in demanding technical environments.

They are now looking for a Hardware Engineer to join their engineering team in a hands-on bring-up and diagnostics role. This position is focused on getting new custom hardware platforms working, identifying issues during development, and helping engineering teams move products from early-stage prototypes into stable, production-ready systems.

You will work directly with custom boards, components and lab equipment, combining practical electronics work with C++ diagnostic and test code. It requires someone who is comfortable working at the bench, probing signals, taking measurements, modifying boards and writing code to understand how the hardware is behaving.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting new hardware bring-up for complex electronic systems.
• Debugging issues at board, component and system level.
• Working hands-on with custom PCBs, components and lab equipment.
• Carrying out board modifications, rework, soldering and test-point additions.
• Writing diagnostic, test and bring-up code in C++.
• Using measurements and software diagnostics to identify root causes.
• Collaborating with hardware, software and systems engineers to resolve design and integration issues.
• Helping move new hardware from early bring-up into stable engineering and production-ready states.

What we’re looking for

• Strong hands-on hardware debug, diagnostics or bring-up experience.
• Confident working directly with PCBs, components and custom boards.
• Practical lab skills including soldering, board rework, measurement and troubleshooting.
• Experience writing diagnostic, test or embedded code in C++.
• Ability to investigate hardware issues methodically and independently.
• Comfortable using equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers and multimeters.
• Experience working close to the hardware in a development, validation, test or product engineering environment.
