This opportunity is with a fast-growing, venture-backed AI company building enterprise-grade ML and GenAI systems used at scale in a highly regulated, real-world environment. Their platform supports model training, serving, evaluation, and agent-based workflows, and is relied upon daily by applied ML and product teams.

This is a senior leadership role combining people management, technical strategy, and hands-on platform ownership. You’ll be responsible for shaping how machine learning systems are trained, deployed, monitored, and operated in production.

What you will do:

- Lead and grow a small, high-impact AI Platform / MLOps team, setting clear technical direction and standards

- Take ownership of the core AI platform, covering model training, deployment, monitoring, and operational reliability

- Define how machine learning and GenAI systems are run in production, balancing speed, cost, scalability, and compliance

- Guide architectural decisions across ML, infrastructure, and product teams

- Work closely with applied ML and product leaders to ensure the platform enables rapid experimentation and safe deployment

- Establish best practices around observability, evaluation, and platform quality

Key skills required:

- Strong background building and operating distributed or platform-level systems

- Proven experience leading ML platform, MLOps, or AI infrastructure teams

- Hands-on understanding of cloud-native systems, containers, and Kubernetes

- Experience supporting model training and serving at scale, including GPU-based workloads

- Familiarity with LLM-powered systems, agent frameworks, or modern GenAI tooling

- Comfortable operating in regulated or reliability-critical environments
