Senior ServiceNow Architect - CMDB / CSDM

5V Tech are supporting a large enterprise technology organisation in Cambridge with a critical ServiceNow CMDB uplift programme.

They are looking for a senior CMDB / CSDM Architect to act as the technical design authority for a complex live ServiceNow environment. This is for someone with deep CMDB architecture, CSDM, IRE, Discovery, Service Mapping readiness and data quality experience.

You will be responsible for shaping the technical direction across CMDB structure, CI classes, relationships, service and application taxonomy, IRE rules, source precedence, authoritative data sources, lifecycle controls and service-to-infrastructure mapping.

Key areas of work will include:

• CMDB and CSDM (version 5) model assessment and redesign
• Business Service, Application Service, Technical Service and infrastructure CI modelling
• IRE, reconciliation and source precedence review
• Discovery outputs, dependency modelling and Service Mapping readiness
• CMDB Health, duplicate management, stale CI handling and data quality controls
• Ownership, lifecycle and governance controls within ServiceNow
• Technical backlog definition and design assurance for ServiceNow developers
• Knowledge transfer and handover to internal teams

Key experience:

• Strong experience hands-on with CMBD architecuture and CSDM implementation
• ServiceNow IRE: identification rules, reconciliation rules and source precedence
• ServiceNow Discovery and discovered infrastructure relationships
• Working with existing, imperfect CMDBs rather than only greenfield implementations
• Translating business/governance requirements into ServiceNow technical design
• Experience mentoring internal teams during a transformation or uplift programme
