Commercial Strategy Specialist

• 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home

• Up to €54 000 (excluding 13th month and 8% holiday allowance)

• Permanent, full-time contract (Standard Dutch model - 12 months initial FTC, then transferred to Permanent contract)

5V Tech are supporting a leading player in the energy transition space, focused on helping customers reduce their carbon footprint through scalable, commercially viable solutions. This role sits within a high-impact team shaping customer value propositions across sectors like road transport and marine.

This is a role for someone who wants to combine analytical depth with real commercial impact, helping shape how energy transition solutions are delivered to market.

You’ll be working at the intersection of data, strategy, and commercial decision-making, influencing how new propositions are built, priced, and scaled. You’ll play a central role across the full lifecycle of customer propositions, working closely with commercial, product, and strategy teams.

Day-to-day includes:

• Supporting onboarding of new solutions, ensuring a smooth transition from contract through to delivery
• Partnering with sales teams on pricing, commercial modelling, and margin analysis
• Building customer proposals aligned with value propositions and business goals
• Developing dashboards and reports to track performance, customer behaviour, and uptake

On the portfolio side:

• Managing and tracking the proposition development pipeline
• Supporting go-to-market teams in scaling new offerings
• Keeping visibility on progress, risks, and commercial impact
• Coordinating across product, marketing, and commercial functions

From a strategy perspective:

• Running deep-dive analysis on market trends, customer segments, and performance
• Assessing competitor landscape and identifying growth opportunities
• Turning data into clear recommendations around pricing, customer experience, and portfolio evolution
• Supporting business cases, scenario modelling, and planning cycles
• Monitoring regulatory and policy developments impacting the energy transition space

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in commercial analytics, pricing, consulting, or energy-related roles
• Strong analytical skill set with hands-on experience in Excel and data visualisation tools like Power BI
• Solid commercial understanding with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Experience working cross-functionally with both technical and commercial stakeholders
• Structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have:

• Exposure to customer value proposition development or business development
• Understanding of go-to-market strategy and customer segmentation
• Familiarity with low-carbon energy markets such as EV charging, renewable power, or biofuels
• Knowledge of ESG, GHG calculations, or sustainability reporting
