Jira IT Solutions Manager

• Initial 6-month contract - Transfer to employee after 6 months

• Rate up to €650 per day
• Fully Remote - optional on-site in Lisbon

5V Tech is partnered with a global telecommunications equipment manufacturer that are searching for a hands-on Jira Solutions Team Lead.

You'll take a vital role in a large Jira user base supporting 800–1000 engineers across 700+ Jira projects - from R&D and customer support to factory workflows, sourcing, and internal projects. You’ll lead a small, distributed team to unify workflows and prepare for a large Jira Cloud migration.

What you’ll do...

• Own the Atlassian roadmap: translate cross-functional needs (R&D, Ops, Sales) into scalable solutions and governance.
• Lead a distributed team of 4: set priorities, mentor, review code, and enforce best practices.
• Build, not just admin: design and implement advanced Jira (ScriptRunner/Groovy), Confluence, Jenkins CI/CD, and Python integrations (REST APIs).
• Unify and simplify: drive consolidated schemas, workflows, and templates.
• Prepare & execute migration: standardise engineering projects to a unified workflow and lead Jira Cloud migration.
• Run a 24/7-ready platform: performance, scalability, reliability, documentation, and incident response.
• Stakeholder management: collect requirements, align priorities, and communicate trade-offs clearly.
• Vendor & budget oversight: optimise cost while maintaining service levels.

You’ll bring...

• Proven team leadership in fast-paced, global environments.
• Deep Jira administration + ScriptRunner (Groovy) engineering (automations, listeners, REST, custom fields, performance tuning).
• Strong Python (web/REST) and Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid OO programming fundamentals and SDLC fluency.
• Experience establishing governance, documentation, and best practices at scale.
• Excellent communication in English; diplomatic, decisive, pragmatic.

Nice to have...

• Large-scale Jira Cloud migrations.
• Confluence macros/automation; enterprise change management.
• Manufacturing or high-throughput product engineering environments.
