Senior Back End Platform Engineer

5V Tech are partnering with an established MedTech company, near Aix, developing innovative medical devices used in neurorehabilitation and physical medicine. Their technology is deployed in clinical environments and directly supports patient recovery, operating in a highly regulated, safety-critical space where reliability, security, and performance are non-negotiable.

They are now strengthening their platform engineering capability and looking for a senior engineer to help evolve and scale their backend and cloud systems as part of a wider modernisation project.

This is a hands-on role across backend development, cloud infrastructure, and platform reliability, sitting at the intersection of engineering, DevOps, and SRE.

What you'll be working on:

• Designing and evolving AWS cloud infrastructure
• Managing Kubernetes environments in production
• Building backend services in Java (Spring Boot)
• Working on REST APIs and microservices
• Using Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
• Working with Docker and Helm for deployments
• Improving observability, monitoring, logging and alerting
• Supporting incident management and post-mortems
• Automating deployment and operational workflows
• Working with RabbitMQ for messaging

Requirements:

• Strong Java backend engineering experience
• Solid AWS and Kubernetes experience in production
• Experience with DevOps and SRE practices
• Background in highly regulated environments (MedTech, Defence, Banking/Finance, Government, etc.)
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices
• Experience working across code and infrastructure
• Fluent French speaker

Nice to have:

• PostgreSQL, InfluxDB
• Vue.js, Bootstrap
• IoT or connected device experience
• MQTT or AMQP exposure
