5V Tech are supporting a fast-growing technology company delivering IoT solutions into commercial real estate portfolios globally, with a focus on lighting, HVAC, and building systems.

They’re a small, high-performing team with strong technical depth and a clear expectation around ownership. This role offers the chance to take real control of how operations are run and improved as the business scales.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone stepping up from a senior field or support engineering background.

You’ll take ownership of commissioning and support, bringing structure to delivery while staying close to the technical work. It’s a player-coach environment where leading by example matters.

The Role:

• Plan and coordinate commissioning activity across multiple projects
• Structure support operations, including backlog management, prioritisation, and SLAs
• Act as escalation point for complex technical issues across multiple systems
• Improve workflows across commissioning, support, and documentation
• Drive consistency in delivery quality and reporting
• Coach and support engineers in the field
• Explore ways to improve efficiency through better tooling, automation, and AI

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in a technical, customer-facing role (building automation, lighting, HVAC, or similar)
• Strong troubleshooting skills across interconnected systems
• Experience working across both hardware and software/configuration
• Comfortable owning issues end-to-end in live environments
• Someone others naturally go to for support and direction
• Clear communicator with both customers and internal teams
• Interest in improving processes and ways of working
